In early 2023, World Heart Beat opened a new state-of-the-art, multifunctional site at Embassy Gardens in Nine Elms. The space, home to recording studios, café, and teaching rooms also includes the first public concert hall to open in London for over 13 years. A centre for musical excellence, the space will provide thousands more students with music education and increase the charity’s teaching capacity in an accessible multi-functional venue.
Due to the variety of performances the space was to hold, from standing gigs to cabaret-style performances with dining, the seat chosen had to be flexible enough to be used in a multitude of ways and easy to manoeuvre, while remaining a comfortable, stylish seat that reflects the modern elegance of the building.
A beautiful seat for a stunning space
The Race Furniture Tub Chair, our high-end stacking chair, fit the bill perfectly. The tub chair is fitted with floor pin fixings, various layouts have been plotted around the space and the seat can be manoeuvred with ease and then fixed into position – giving a flexible, fixed solution.
The Tub Chair, was originally created in response to the need for a theatre seat that also doubled as a dining seat, meaning that its style and comfort is of paramount importance. For the World Heart Beat Embassy Gardens space we finished its beautiful curved birch plywood shell in a darker veneer and the upholstery in a stunning jade velvet. A glamourous, modern seat that elevates the space and provides the audience with a seat that not only looks great, but feels great too. We even created a larger ‘love-seat’ version for this venue to provide additional comfort and space.
